Technologies for education do not exist outside of the world which has brought them to life. There is no point in thinking of the Internet as a technology for education: instead, our focus should be on how we adapt our educational processes to meet the way that the Internet is changing society, especially in relation to knowledge work.
The concepts discussed in this section provide some insight, supported by research into the Internet and society, into the thinking that underpins the key proposition for this site: that technologies called ‘Web 2.0’ give us the tools now to create educational experiences that sit within the knowledge networking paradigm.
